✧ Changes & Discoveries
Between dreams
The Scarred Demiplane
The party stirred in an ethereal space between dream and waking. Each adventurer saw different fragments of the catastrophe that had broken the pocket realm roughly a century before. Primordial waters hung in the air; the place felt prehistoric, untamed and frozen outside ordinary time.
The visions offered impressions rather than answers. Whatever had happened here had wounded more than stone.
A prayer answered
The Celestial Watcher
Seeking protection, Karl raised his holy symbol and formed a circle against evil. The response was immediate—but it was not the sanctuary he expected.
A Celestial Watcher appeared, terrible in its beauty and stern with the authority of the upper planes. It accused the party of blundering through cosmic layers and calling into the void without understanding who might hear.
“The divine no longer listen to mortal pleas. But others do.”
Ancient and hungry things, it warned, turned their attention towards careless invocations. If the party continued calling so loudly, they might bring doom upon far more than themselves.
Neither here nor gone
Asuran Fades

When the party fully awakened, Asuran stood among them but was no longer entirely present. His outline flickered. One arm and sections of his body became translucent, then returned, as though the world could not decide whether to hold him.
The change carried the chill of undeath, but its true nature was uncertain. Asuran could still speak, move and think. For the moment, that had to be enough.
All knowledge denied
The Library Threshold

Still desperate for answers, the party sought the Library of All Knowledge—a repository said to contain every truth, written and unwritten. They appeared at its threshold without invitation or the proper ritual.
The guardian resembled a monstrous chest drowned in living slime, yet it spoke with the intelligence of something wearing divinity like an ill-fitting cloak. It was an avatar of Ghaunadaur.
“Leave.”
The rejection was absolute. They had not earned entry.
The answer to “why?”
The Symbol of Ghaunadaur
Asuran did not retreat. He answered the avatar’s command with a single question: why?
The challenge appeared to amuse the creature. It gurgled, and a strange symbol of Ghaunadaur sloughed from its form and fell at Asuran’s feet like an obscene prize. The rogue took it.
Then the threshold rejected them. Asuran and the others were swept away, the Library’s endless shelves vanishing before any of its knowledge could be claimed.
